2018 Coastal Electric Cooperative Annual Meeting of Members
Coastal Electric Cooperative will hold its 78th Annual Meeting at 10:00 a.m. on June 7th at Midway Middle School in Midway. The official notice and member registration credentials were mailed to the members in the May and June issues of Georgia Magazine.
New for 2018 – Member Appreciation Days
Can’t attend annual meeting but still want to participate? This year, our Board of Directors has made it possible for members who can’t attend the annual meeting to still register and vote, as well as enter to win $1,000 of free electricity!
The week of June 4 is Member Appreciation Week, culminating with the annual meeting and Member Appreciation Day June 7. For three days only, members can register to win $1,000 of free electricity from 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. June 4-6 at either of our office locations in Richmond Hill or Midway.
The winner will be announced during Member Appreciation Day on Thursday but doesn’t have to be present to win. Only members who register early (June 4-6) will be eligible to win free electricity. Members who register June 4-6 and also attend the annual meeting are still eligible to win the annual $1,000 cash prize drawing given away during the meeting but must be present to win the cash prize.
“Member Appreciation Week not only allows us the opportunity to let our members know that they are at the center of everything we do as an organization, but it also allows members who are unable to attend the annual meeting due to work or other obligations to participate in the co-op’s democratic process,” said CEO Whit Hollowell. “Democratic member control is one benefit that makes cooperatives special, and we want all our members to be able to take part in that.”
For one lucky member, free electricity for the summer will be the icing on the cake!
